Experience The Gift Of Music

Experience is a night that has been going on for over 10 years. It was created by myself and my first guest was DJ Rich Medina. It was inspired by my trip to NYC when I got the chance to check out Body&Soul and the Shelter. I was blown away by the style of music and the way people where reaction to deep and soulful sounds I was hearing. I wanted to bring that experience to Vancouver and that's where the name came from. It was never about what's hot or cool. It was just about good music. Deep house, funk, soul, afro beat, and hip hop. I started off doing experience 4 times a year and when we opened Fortune we started doing it every Saturday night with my good friend and DJ Marlon J English. The night has been going on for 2 & 1/2 years and the support from the community has been the reason for its success. We have had the pleasures of having some great bands and DJ's that have never been to Vancouver. Here is a list of some of our past guests.

Stepping from behind his turntables, DJ Mars produced three documentary shorts focusing on each guy’s daily grind. It’s intimate access—see Mars at the crack of dawn preparing for his day and Rich Medina teaching his son how to scratch records at home.
