"This is a collection of some of my favorite songs of the last year or so, along with a few classics. The theme is loosely 'future R&B,' run through different filters: Techno, House, Garage, Tropical, Moombahton, Hip-Hop and Downtempo. When ARITZIA asked The Rub to record a mix series, I pretty much knew what I wanted to do right away. I tried to keep the mixing tight but not too flashy, because I wanted the music to take center stage, with me behind the curtains. Gil Scot-Heron passed away after the mix was recorded, and I think it is a testament to his greatness that he recorded 'I'm New Here' when he was 61, while most of the other musicians on the mix were still in their 20s."
